Chamber Link www.daltonchamber.org April 2016 10 Economic Development The Mission of the Dalton - Whitfield County Joint Development Authority is to facilitate the long-term, positive eco- nomic growth of the community by attracting/retaining jobs, diverse investments and growing the tax base. The Development Authority repre- sents a public-private partnership funded by Whitfield County, City of Dalton and Grow Greater Dalton. Frank Robertson – Robertson and Company Sara "Skeeter" Pierce – Lawson Winchester Wealth Management STAFF Carl Campbell Executive Director, Economic Development Summer Nix Project Manager Barbara Ward Director of Workforce Development On March 10th, 2016, the Dalton-Whitfield County Joint Development Authority (JDA) and local leaders hosted Georgia's International Representatives for dinner at The Farm Golf Club. Georgia has representatives in 11 strategic markets located throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas, connecting Georgia to the world. These trade representatives assist Georgia companies with market assessments, locating and pre-qualifying appropriate partners and customers, providing free marketing insight and guidance on local business practices, and arranging in-country business appointments. They also assist foreign companies looking to establish business or man- ufacturing operations in Georgia. There were 17 International Representatives on-hand for the March 10th dinner representing: Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, Europe, Japan, South Korea, and Mexico. Also in attendance were select members of the Georgia Department of Economic Development Staff, including Deputy Commissioner of International Affairs, Ember Bishop and Commissioner of Economic Development, Chris Carr. Commissioner Carr and Executive Director of the JDA, Carl Campbell, made brief remarks to the group before dinner.
