Photo by Matt Hamilton With all of the changes in our healthcare system recently, it's been difficult to avoid the conversation around healthcare and personal health. Regardless of your opinions on those changes we can all agree that healthcare is an important driver of our local economy and quality of life. In the healthcare landscape, greater Dalton possesses impressive amenities that are the envy of many communities large and small. We are fortunate that our community has one of the finest hospital systems in Georgia. Virtually no com- munity of our size can boast such a high quality sys- tem that continues to think big. Not long ago, Hamilton Medical Center announced a capital cam- paign to build an integrated cancer treatment center right across the street from the hospital. We are also fortunate to have a quality non-profit, the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership that helps connect the less fortunate members of our community with the healthcare resources they need and promotes a healthier lifestyle for all of us. The Partnership takes a holistic approach to healthcare and they recently agreed to take the Archway Partnership's work on early childhood development because they understand that work provides them the opportunity to teach young children about healthy practices that will last a lifetime. Finally, whether you prefer to get your exercise on a mountain or road bike, on a hiking trail, on the field of play, or in the gym, our community has an endless array of offerings for all of us to get and stay fit. With all that Greater Dalton has to offer, why go anywhere else for your healthcare, wellness, and fitness needs? Thanks for supporting our local economy by taking full advantage of the providers, services and opportunities we have right here! Chuck Dobbins, Chairman
