It is something they should not have until reaching the age of 18 and are out of high school. Now, I am not the one to police such things and not the one that would have to take disciplinary action on students. It is a lot easier for me to say that then for school officials who must take such actions and know much more about the pres- sures and problems associ- ated with that stuff. I will state I am person- ally against tattoos. Second, I do not believe student- athletes should be allowed to show them. The last I knew Pike Central had a policy against that. I am also against nose rings and do not believe they should be a part of a student's dress. Extra ear and finger jewelry is another story, but it must not be in bad taste. I know tattoos have become more of a "thing" among the young people but I would urge caution in what you do and what you show. Many employers now require either no tattoos or to make sure none are vis- ible while working. Others have nothing to say about them. Most people in the higher paying jobs will find that there are restrictions in place and they will have to meet those restrictions to be employed by that company. So there are con- sequences you may have to face in the future that could limit your ability to succeed. Keep that in mind when deciding what to do. ******* Read Luke 17:11-19.
