Club," 1999) in the apocalyptic ac-
tion flick "World War Z" (2013)
and landing a role in the Canadian
thriller "The Captive" (2014), star-
ring Ryan Reynolds ("Green Lan-
tern," 2011) and Rosario Dawson
("Sin City," 2005). "The Catch"
won't limit Enos to the small
screen this year either; she's slated
to appear in three films in 2016.
Now, Enos' Vaughan joins the
special club of quintessential
ShondaLand heroines, which also
includes Meredith Grey (Ellen
Pompeo, "Grey's Anatomy"), Oliv-
ia Pope (Kerry Washington, "Scan-
dal") and Annalise Keating (Viola
Davis, "How to Get Away With
Murder"). Rhimes has long been
lauded for turning gender norms
on their heads with strong female
leads and for her racially and sex-
ually diverse casts — anybody
and everybody is welcome and
celebrated in ShondaLand.
If Rhimes' other series are
anything to go by, "The Catch's"
leading lady won't hog the spot-
light; the supporting cast is sure
to bring a lot to the table
throughout the show's run, as
well. This includes Vaughan's
best friend and business partner
Valerie Anderson (Rose Rollins,
"The L Word"), her co-founder
in what's become one of the
leading P.I. and security firms in
the country. Their associates,
Danny Yoon (Jay Hayden, "State
of Emergency," 2011) and So-
phie Novak (Elvy Yost, "Band-
slam," 2009), are major assets
in investigating some of the
world's most elaborate crimes.
Additionally, Vaughan's search
puts her in the path of FBI agent
Jules Dao (Jacky Ido, "Inglouri-
ous Basterds," 2009), who's also
on the hunt for the elusive Jones.
As for Jones himself, we haven't
seen the last of him. With the
help of his partners-in-crime,
Margot Bishop (Sonya Walger,
"Parenthood") and Reggie Len-
nox (Alimi Ballard, "Numb3rs"),
Jones is still moving from one
con to the next, zeroing in on tar-
gets that promise multimillion-
dollar payouts.
Though Enos was announced
as the series lead a full year ago,
the rest of the show has under-
gone a major overhaul since
then. "The Catch" was actually
slated to premiere back in the
fall, but creative differences
with Rhimes' team led to the de-
partures of showrunners Jenni-
fer Schuur and Josh Reims from
the project.
