Spring at the Shore is a time of renewal and rebirth, a time of pleasure and relief for senses weary of winter's limited palette. We are renewed with colors, scents, and sounds, and the mind is refreshed and given to more upbeat thoughts. Spring is often a busy time at the Shore, and JERSEY SHORE Magazine and JERSEY SHORE Publications Online are designed to bring you a wealth of infor- mation to help make life more enjoyable "down the Shore." If you're a local resident or a long-time visitor, you may find things you haven't discovered or be reminded of offerings you may have forgotten. When using these resources, you'll find a myriad of information to make your time at the Shore more rewarding and exciting. In addition to our numerous guides, this issue's feature articles once again high- light many of the on-going themes that define this magazine—the unique people, places, organizations, and histories that make up our community—as well as the natural world. Our "Jersey Shore People" feature, "A Home For Art," tells the story of the Ocean County Artists' Guild, the Island Heights organization that has been nurturing artists and bringing art and culture to the Jersey Shore community since 1957. "Meridian Health," our "Jersey Shore Profile" feature, gives an excellent over- view of the history and services offered at their different hospitals in Ocean and Monmouth counties. Meridian is the largest employer in the two counties, and the people at Meridian serve the most basic and important needs of our community. They give to all of us and play an important roll in our lives. Our "Jersey Shore Images" feature, "Springtime Awakens Along Barnegat Bay" features the incredible wildlife photos of Ray Yeager, one of the Shore's great naturalist photographers. These stunning photographs remind us that we are not alone at the Jersey Shore. Wildlife is all around us every day, and these beautiful creatures call the Shore home just as much as we do. There are also features on Melissa Michaelson, the Brick resident who has dedicated herself to educating others about sharks; the Monmouth University Polling Institute, whose polling results of the current presidential election can be heard nationwide on national news programs; and Cattus Island County Park's restoration after Superstorm Sandy. Our new "Jersey Shore Foodie" section profiles Frank Kineavy, owner of Rod's Olde Irish Tavern in Sea Girt and Frankie's Bar & Grill in Point Pleasant Beach. Rod's is celebrating thirty-five years in business this April. Capping off the issue, on our "Home Port" page, is "Spinning Into Spring," another beautiful and thought provoking personal essay by poet/author Frank Finale. Frank's new coffee table book, "To The Shore Once More, Volume III," is being released in May. On our cover and throughout our pages, we are proud to present paintings and photographs by the Shore's most talented artists and photographers. This edition's cover, "Green Umbrella By The Sea," was painted by Theresa Troise Heidel, one of the nation's finest watercolorists. You can feel the spring air and light in her painting of Spring Lake's beach. Throughout our guides, you'll find many places to go and things to do. Our Calendar of Events and Theater and Music Event sections will guide you through the cultural happenings of the spring season in the two counties. Our guides include Area Towns, Attractions and Activities, Parks and Recreation Areas, Historic Sites and Museums, Lighthouses, Public Golf Courses, Farmers' Markets, and more. You'll also find guides to Stores and Shops, Art Galleries, and Dining Out among others. Page through JERSEY SHORE Magazine and visit us online.
