Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors and HSPA Road Show for Reporters workshop What: "Elections, Budgets & Other Stormy Assignments," a daylong workshop for beginning reporters and those who want to brush up on the basics When: 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. EDT, Thursday, June 21 Where: The Indianapolis Star's Foundation sponsor the annu al seminar for beginning jour nalists and those who want to Pulliam Production Center, 8278 N. Georgetown Road, Indianapolis (not the downtown office) Cost: $30 by May 30; $40 after that date; includes breakfast, lunch and a 2012 AP Stylebook Registration: HSPAfoundation.org/ roadshow brush up on skills. This year's event will take place at The Indianapolis Star's Pulliam Production Center, 8278 N. Georgetown Road, Indianapolis. Leave the muskets at home. This battle begins with clubs. Join the Yankees as they try to quiet that Rebel Yell, or team up with the Southerners as they plot an ambush. A blind draw will determine which Smartphones – North and South foursomes face each other in match play scored after all teams finish the scramble. The side with the most victories wins the Cannon. Smart Journalism Val Hoeppner, director of education for The Free- dom Forum Diversity Institute and former multi- media director at The Indianapolis Star, present- ed a multimedia workshop for journalists May 3 in Indianapolis. "Smart phones – Smart Journal- ism" focused on helping reporters extend the capabilities of their phones through multimedia, editing, note-taking and live-streaming apps.
