Sunday morning service at 10 a.m., with Sunday school classes at 11 a.m.; Thursday night services at 7 p.m. Each month on the fourth Sunday at 2 p.m. at Amber Manor ministry in music and the Word. Intercessory prayer, Jan- uary 26 at 7 p.m. at House of Mercy. As Christians we are to be building ourselves to be more of what the Word says we are to be. We do this by reading the Word every- day to see what God's will is for our lives. We have a prayer that we talk to God everyday to hear His direc- tion for our lives so that we create an intimate relation- ship with Jesus. Also, to at- tend Church faithfully ev- ery time there is a service and give our tithes and of- ferings because the Word commands it, also because we love and trust God. As I have talked about building ourselves, we are excited at House of Mercy for the building program naturally that is about to begin. We give all thanks, praise and glory to God for He has been instrumental in leading and guiding us to what lies ahead. May you find peace and joy in your life in the week ahead. Our prayers are for our country, government lead- ers (federal, state, coun- ty and local), soldiers and their families, those in nursing homes and hospi- tals, loved ones and friends that are sick and afflicted, churches and pastors. Take time each day to pray and read the Word of God. Visit those in need and become a friend to someone who needs lifted up. Your days will be blessed and your life more pleasant. On Saturday, Jan. 16, Chris Hughes will be bring- ing the Word. Beware! Satan Is Aboard! It Is a Hijack! The human race is aboard a hijacked jet flying through time. God Himself directed its takeoff from the divine control tower. The initiator of all evil, whom we call Sa- tan, managed to get a board- ing pass. When cruising height was reached, he pro- duced his weapons, threat- ened the pilot, and took con- trol of the jumbo jet and all of its passengers. So it hopped on uncomfortably through history from airport to air- port till it was caught on the tarmac at Jerusalem, an out- post of the Roman empire, in the reign of Tiberius Cae- sar, where the Son of God offered Himself as sole hos- tage in exchange for passen- gers and crew. The further you push the parallel the more fanciful it seems. But the basic idea of the human race aboard a hi- jacked jumbo flying through time is sound enough. The passengers must keep a wary eye on the hijacker, in- duce the pilot to take his di- rections from God's control tower, and be ready to accept rescue through the sacrifice of the willing Hostage. That is their only escape route. Bob Shepherd, Reporter MT. OLIVE G.B.
