The Dialogue We want to hear from you. Visit vegasinc.com to post comments to stories. On David McGrath Schwartz's April 3 vegasinc.com story on lotteries ("Why Nevada offers just about every type of gambling possible — except a lottery"): M any states have stupid laws on their books, but none is more stupid than this law. I can stop to fill my gas tank, buy cigarettes and a six pack, but I have to go to California to buy a Powerball, Mega Millions, Fantasy Five or Lotto ticket. The law is just asking Nevadans to give their money to California. The state is not doing its job for the people who want it, and it is costing the education system billions. Look at Florida and Virginia and how much money they take in for education from the lottery. — fosimmons (Frank Simmons) The state doesn't care if Nevada is 50th in just about everything negative. For the state, it is all about the casinos and always has been. — jazzy13 (Mick Davis) Nevada's gaming industry controls Nevada politics. This industry has strong-armed lobbyists not only on the local and state fronts, but in Washington, D.C., and throughout the world. It's a global empire that detests any form of competition. — staralioflundnv (Star Ali Mistriel-Kogan) On Ron Sylvester's April 2 vegasinc. com story on the wide variety of slot machines in Las Vegas ("Lucky seven: Some of the most popular slot machines made in Las Vegas"): T hese gaming companies keep coming up with prettier and prettier A few months ways to take our pennies. Are the odds better? No, they are the same as any number generator. What you see on the screen is really the representation of number sequences, which is the same workings as any other video machine. That you can reach up and spin the wheel is really of little consolation when diminishing returns take your bank away at a rather alarming rate. — Xtlman (Mark Dunton) On Tovin Lapan's March 28 vegasinc. com story on the lucrative nightclub industry ("Nightclubs are the new cash registers at Strip casinos"): I LEILA NAVIDI On Richard N. Velotta's April 9 VEGAS INC story on an electronic receptionist ("Las Vegas company launches computer receptionist"): N othing says customers" touch of like a "person." — gmag39 Alice won't bring you coffee is correct. Nor will she handle back office billing, get lunch for the office or run random errands for the boss. She may be perfect for government buildings that just shuffle people from point A to B. — zackiebinkes (Zackie Binkes) computer "we care about our the pseudo-human generated t amazes me what makes money these days. I've never seen the attraction of these clubs: no place to sit, crowded, loud and expensive. I wonder if casinos have forgotten the 40- 50-year-olds who want a place to hang out and not be fleeced for overpriced drinks and try to have conversations over blaring club music. Las Vegas would do well to remember that middle-aged people need a source of social entertainment aside from gambling, eating another expensive meal or seeing yet another show. — Felding (Eddie Gaul) On Ric Anderson's March 30 vegasinc. com story on Pizza Fusion ("Organic pizza franchise to open restaurant in Henderson as part of Nevada expansion"): S ounds good. They have a vegan cheese pizza that looks delicious! — Stephica (Stephanie Taylor) I hope they do better here than they did in the metropolitan area of San Diego. They closed there. — denro discontinue ago, doing I business started to with other game controlled by a random any company that puts a machine between me and them when I call or visit. I also write to them and let them 1's and 0's that are spit out as random know that information.
