MILWAUKEE — Soldiers and families from the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment got an early present this year as almost every- one made it home in time for the holidays. Four flights touched down Dec. 17 through Dec. 20 at General Mitchell International Airport with individuals from the nearly 30-soldier unit. They spent the past seven months mobilized to Kuwait in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield, the Wisconsin National Guard reported. Headquartered in West Bend, the sol- diers of the 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation, which flies UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, provided air medevac assets and ground maintenance support for American person- nel operating in the region. The unit had more than 1,200 flight hours during the deployment, responded to 14 medevac mis- sions and trained hundreds of service members on aeromedical evacuation opera- tions. "We did what we needed to do in an orderly fashion and kept the operational readiness rate high so we were always ready to do what we needed to do," said Sgt. Michael Coomer of Oak Creek, one of the unit's mechanics. He said he was looking forward to watching the Green Bay Packers game Sunday. 10 • Milwaukee County Post • December 24, 2015 National Guard unit home for the holidays ~ 2 Locations ~ Milwaukee South Side Ph: 282-9909 • 5040 S. 27th St. West Allis Ph: 257-9822 • 729 S. 84th St. STEREO ONE STEREO ONE 1 1 F I N A N C I N G F I N A N C I N G Expert Installation Lifetime Warranty Check out our Website www.stereo1one.com Check out our Website www.stereo1one.com % % 0 0 HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS 247569073 247569017 POWER POINTS + + + DUE TO EARLY PRESS TIMES FOR THE HOLIDAYS, PLEASE WATCH NEXT WEEKS POST FOR WEEK 13 & 14 WINNERS GO GREEN & GOLD – Milwaukee Post Football Fans! Simply review the week's schedule of games, listed on entry form, and decide which game you are SUREST of picking a winner in.
