Listen each Sunday at 9 a.m. on 106.5 FM WWBL for the FBC message. Dr. C. C. Baxter, Pastor through his church in the middle of the day, decided to pause by the altar and see who had come to pray. Just then the back door A minister passing THE CHURCH ALIVE 506 N. 9th Street Petersburg opened, a man came down the aisle. The minister frowned as he saw the man hadn't shaved in a while. His shirt was kinda shabby and his coat was worn and frayed. The man knelt, he bowed his head, then rose and walked away. In the days that followed, God has quit speaking? Maybe sermons are losing their impact, times of genu- ine worship in life are grow- ing more scarce, and overall, you're coasting on spiritual memories and past times? Whatever the reason, there are times in life in which we feel disconnected from God and alone. But have you considered that Book you've been ne- glecting? The Bible is called God's Word because that's exactly what it is. It was faithfully recorded by in- spired men from all walks of life, who lived across three continents, and com- piled the texts over a peri- od of fifteen hundred years without ever contradict- ing one another. God spoke then through Scripture and is still speaking through it now. When we neglect to meet meeting following church services. Read II Corinthians 4:6- 12. Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trou- ble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). We have no choice about Him in the words He pre- served for us we lose our bearing in life, and He seems distant. But the won- derful truth is that God hasn't moved and He is still speaking through the Bi- ble. Remember, it's not just a book with worn-out phras- es. Rather, it's a treasure house of truth that's living and active, it's a fountain of living water and our source of strength. Pick it up, dust it off, and draw near to the God who speaks still. One should approach Scripture with the under- standing that God speaks every time we read His Words. We just need to lis- ten and seek after Him. Devotion written by Rev. Don Collins. www.petersburgnaz.net Come and join us as we— when storms come, but we can choose to prepare our spirit to face them. When we faithfully read the Bible and pray, we pre- pare spiritually for the storms of life. Everyone welcome to come and worship. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister 7; Sunday morning worship 10:15. Due to the great outpour- Wednesday night worship ing of miraculous miracles in West Palm Beach, Flori- da, Evangelist W. V. Grant will not be here for the Heal- ing Crusade until May 7. Well, the minister's suspicions grew so he decided to stop the man and ask him, "What are you doing here?" The old man said, he worked down the road. Lunch was half an hour. Lunchtime was his prayer time, for finding strength and power. "I stay only moments, see, because the factory is so far away; As I kneel here talking to the Lord, this is what I say: "I just came again to tell you, Lord, how happy I've from Eagles Nest Church in Dallas, Texas.
