COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT By Eric Oliver Enterprise Staff DELAFIELD — For all the stigma that surrounds alter- native medical practices like chiropractic care and acupuncture, the Lake County Health Center has been doing something right for almost 25 years. The health clinic, 1452 Genesee St., opened almost a quarter-century ago and has been "treating the whole person in a holistic and non- invasive approach by find- ing complete balance for the body," spokeswoman Chrys- tal Schultz said. The Enterprise spoke to Schultz about the Health Center and the various ser- vices it offers people inter- ested in the alternative ther- apies. ENTERPRISE: What type of services does the Lake Country Health Center offer? SCHULTZ: Our office emphasizes treating the whole person in a holistic and non-invasive approach by finding complete balance for the body. Therefore, Dr. Daniel Murray, Dr. Shannon Stadler and their integrated team of associates blend tra- ditional chiropractic care with additional treatments such as massage therapy, acupuncture, nutritional consultations, and rehabili- tative exercise to achieve excellent results. ENTERPRISE: How do your services set you apart from the competition in the field? SCHULTZ: Since we've been practicing in Delafield for almost 25 years, we have had the opportunity to grow with the community. We also have a team of the most highly trained professionals and staff who have been hand-chosen by Murray himself. Our integrative approach to health care, high level of personal care, and attention to our patients' specific needs are what truly sets us apart. ENTERPRISE: What kind of benefits do the different types of therapies offer? SCHULTZ: Rehabilitative Care at Lake Country Health Center is known to relieve many different types of pain since it focuses on fixing the problems within individual musculoskeletal and ner- vous systems, instead of covering up symptoms. Patients see our doctors for everything from the com- mon cold to bulging discs. Massage therapy helps to increase range of motion, improve sleep, reduce depression & anxiety, and decreases chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain. Acupuncture assists with a variety of ailments as well. Typically, the most common are pain management, aller- gies, infertility, migraines, arthritis, menopause, and depression. ENTERPRISE: What would you tell somebody who was skeptical about chi- ropractic care, massage therapy, or acupuncture but was looking into the thera- pies? SCHULTZ: We do offer complimentary consulta- tions for each of our ser- vices. Typically, once a patient visits our office, meets our staff, and discuss- es their specific symptoms, they're completely at ease and skepticism is forgotten. Prior to their consultation, our suggestion is to do research on the therapies and what type of relief they provide. We are happy to answer any questions and in the event that we are unable to help, we call on a deep net- work of referrals with whom we have built rela- tionships and trust. ENTERPRISE: What is the one thing you'd like everyone to know about the Lake Country Health Cen- ter? SCHULTZ: Many people don't realize that their health insurance company covers care at our facility or that you have the ability to use your flex spending/health savings account for treatments like acupuncture or massage. Most are unaware of how often we treat injuries from motor vehicle accidents and work related incidents, too. In today's crazy insurance world, we also offer dis- counted packages and staff that can always create a plan to make the best care afford- able financially. www.drdanielmurray.com Email: eoliver@conleynet.com A DIFFERENT WAY TO GET HEALTHY Lake County Health Center offers a holistic approach to health Submitted photo Shannon Stadler and Daniel Murray are the two chiropractic physicians at Lake Country Health Center.
