Attracting those shoppers' dollars is increasingly important as the grocery store market becomes more competitive in southeastern Wisconsin. And while faced with more stores competing for the same dol- lars, locally owned stores are dou- bling down on their existing busi- ness and marketing plans. Staying true Clint Woodman, vice president of Woodman's Market, said the company's leadership doesn't spend much time thinking about what other retailers are doing to lure in customers, but instead focuses on what Woodman's does well. "We will continue to do what we do best: offer the lowest prices and the largest variety of prod- ucts," he said. While other stores promote their sales with ads and fliers, Woodman said his store is known for its low prices and customers don't need to check an ad first to know they are going to get a good price. "Ten years ago we didn't even advertise, but when going into new markets we advertise to get our name out there so people know about us," he said.
