13 Diversity Rules Magazine September 2015 Two Worlds - Con't from page 8 makes me turn quickly, quietly, and I see the slip of a wet tail glide back under the water's surface, then whiskers and bubbles on the blue-sky reflec- tion and two otters slide across the space between the poles and my boat. One tosses its head back and chews noisily, oblivious to the laugh I didn't catch in time, answering with a little grunt when its finished eating whatever it was that needed chewing. Its pal comes back over and the two roll along the surface with bumps and hitches that remind me of the gait of a dachshund puppy running fast. And then I feel myself starting to clutch all of this, the eagle on the shore, the creatures on the poles, the otters and the sunshine, trying to keep it always. is moment is in my hand, I can feel it, and I'm crushing it instead of letting it float free and land somewhere inside where it won't just disappear when the rain comes and I'm sitting in my car, stuck in traffic. I breathe in the present and paddle away from the eagle, resisting the urge to follow the disappearing backs of the otters as they move off in search of more interesting company. Diversity Rules Magazine GoFundMe www.gofundme.com/zve96g Activism is the editor/publisher's passion. He is a fighter for equality and has a respect for diver- sity and acceptance in all forms. Diversity Rules Magazine is his vehicle by which to achieve his mission of helping foster better understanding of diversity and acceptance of the differences in people. Diversity Rules Magazine is a celebration of the diversity of our humanity. Diversity Rules Magazine was conceived in 2006 to fill a void that existed in gay focused publica- tions in upstate New York. The vision brought the magazine to fruition and it continued as a "freebie" publication with 10,000 copies being distributed throughout New York State. It was the most widely distributed gay themed publica- tion in New York State at the time. With the economic downturn of 2009 Diversity Rules Magazine ceased publication. A year later it returned as a digital format publication for 2 years. In March of 2013 it returned to print as a subscription only magazine. The goal was to serve both digital and print tastes. The magazine today needs your support to con- tinue its mission to enlighten and educate others about issues important to gay people around the world and about diversity and acceptance, gen- erally. Funds from this campaign will also lay the groundwork to get it back in print and to do some social media and other promotion of the publication.
