Post Staff MILWAUKEE — Aurora Health Care has announced the donation of more than $3.4 million in grants through its Better Together Fund to nearly two dozen com- munity organizations, colleges and uni- versities throughout eastern Wisconsin. The funds will be used to support the development and expansion or communi- ty-based sexual assault and domestic vio- lence prevention and treatment pro- grams. Almost a third of the grant total will be given to the Sojourner Family Peace Center, including for use of build- ing a new facility. "Aurora Health Care is proud to be working hand-in-hand with these dedicat- ed community-based providers through- out eastern Wisconsin to help stem the tide of domestic violence and sexual assault," said Nick Turkal, M.D., CEO of Aurora Health Care, in a statement. "Aurora has never shied away difficult conversations and community concerns. While we've been championing efforts to put an end to domestic and sexual vio- lence for more than 25 years, we know that there is still much work to be done and that — together — we can make a tangible difference."
