Lawndale Lions Club Shows Appreciation To Town Of Lawndale Randy Champion District Governor, Randy Champion Speaks To Shelby Lions Club District Governor Randy Champion from Black Mountain Lions Club addressed the Shelby Lions Club Tuesday, January 24th. He challenged them to do their best "and then some". District Governor Champion is chief officer of Lions District 31A, which includes 54 clubs from Cleveland County west to Murphy, NC. He outlined activities in the district, including efforts to begin a Lions Club for Spanish speaking citizens in the Edneyville area. Following the meet- ing, District Governor Champion visited the Lions Senior Village in Shelby with President Dave Titus. The City of Shelby, a participant in NCMPA1 and ElectriCities NC, desires to promote energy efficiency mea- sures to its commercial and industrial electric customers with a Commercial Lighting Rebate Program. The Commercial Lighting Rebate Program is established for commercial and industrial electric customers who purchase and install energy efficient lighting as per the program guidelines developed by NCMPA1. City of Shelby Offers Commercial Lighting Rebate Program Rebates will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis for the calendar year 2012. Projects for T-12 lighting replace- ment must be completed by June 30, 2012 in order to qualify for the rebate. Other lighting projects qualify through the end of 2012. Rebates are calculated based on a payment of $.35/ watt saved when comparing the old lighting system with the new, more efficient system, assuming at least 1,800 hours per year of operation.
