February 20th thru March 30th 2012 Shelby City Park Baseball Sign-ups Sign-ups for baseball (League ages 8 thru 17 years) will begin on Monday-Friday from 8:30am 'til 5:30pm in the Shelby City Park offi ce. All league ages are as of May 1st, 2012. February 25th Donald McCluney's 32nd Annual Mid-Cleveland Karate Championships One of the biggest Karate Championships of its kind in the City Park Gymnasium. Registration begins at 8:00am with tournament to get underway at 9:00am. February 27th - March 2nd Western Youth Midget Basketball Tournament Midget Basketball teams ages 11 & 12 from Western North Carolina will compete for the 2012 Western Youth Athletic Association Championship at the Shelby City Park Gym beginning on Monday, February 27th. UPCOMING EVENTS March 3rd & 4th CFA Licensed National Cat Show National Cat Show with over 150 cats of different breeds assemble for a competition. March 6th-8th & 20th-22nd Spring Excursions at the Shelby City Park's Carrousel & Rotary Train Shelby City Park is offering six days in March for school groups to ride The Carrousel and/or Rotary Train for free. No ticket or operator fee for groups who make a reservation for these days. March 9th-18th Lifeguard Training Class with Shelby City Park Must pass pre-swim on Friday, March 9th to take class. Must be 15 years old to take class. Class held at Shelby School Pool. Deadline to register is Friday, February 24th. Egg Hunt & Fun from 9:30am 'til 12:00pm. Meet in Rotary Train Parking Lot! Rain Date - Sunday, April 1st. March 31st Brain Injury Awareness Day Event lasts from 12:00pm 'til 3:00pm. April 23rd 2012 Fellowship of Christian Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet Banquet will be held in the Shelby City Park Gym with 2012 Hall of Fame inductees and Cleveland County's High School athletic awards presented. The banquet begins at 6:00pm. April 28th & 29th 15th Annual Foothill's Merry Go Round Festival Two big days of affordable family fun at Shelby City Park.
