Cold Weekend! Looks like Ol' Man Winter will pay us a visit just in time for the weekend. By early Friday a strong cold front will sweep in and cause some high winds and tumbling temperatures by afternoon. There will be some upslope snow showers in the mountains over the weekend, but the rest of us should be cold and dry. This cold airmass will get re-inforced by Sunday with a weak "Alberta Clipper" that moves into the area. Usually clippers are mostly dry for us, but can create some light snow or flurries in the mountains and northern NC. After this system goes by, the cold air will slide out to sea and we begin a rebound. There will be extremely cold air building in Canada and at some point part of that will attempt to slide south, so check in next week to see when that arrives.
