harrisburg loves to eat. That's no secret.
During TheBurg's 6½ years of existence,
we've featured more restaurant stories
than just about anything else. We've
written about restaurants in Camp hill,
New Cumberland and Carlisle; Mount Joy,
Linglestown and hershey.
however, I don't think I'm divulging
anything when I say that harrisburg (the
city) has become the epicenter of central
Pennsylvania's dining scene.
I've lost count of the restaurant openings
in just the last two years. And it's not just
the number, but the variety and quality,
as the food keeps getting better and
more diverse.
over the past year, we've written about
The Millworks, note. Bistro & Wine Bar,
Cork & Fork, Ad Lib, 1700° Steakhouse
and rubicon, among others. All of these
restaurants are delivering a level of
dining that, when I moved here, I never
thought I'd experience. Next month, we'll
include a story featuring changes afoot
inside hMAC, which includes an exciting
new restaurant.
So, it's with special delight that I present
our annual section focused on food and
dining. This year, we decided to feature
casual, even offbeat, places. yes, you
now can get delicious fare and unique
experiences at almost any price point, if
you know where to look.
of course, spring is always a busy time in
the harrisburg area when it comes to arts,
culture and the great outdoors, and our
issue reflects that, as well. This month, an
important municipal election also will take
place in harrisburg, so we've provided
some information that we hope will help
voters make an informed decision at the
ballot box.
But why are you just sitting there? go get
something good to eat. And, if you need
some ideas on where to grab that great
sandwich, soup or entrée, just open the
pages in front of you.
