Thursday, December 29-January 4, 2011 www.shelbyinfo.com Do I Have Hope By: Evangelist W.C. "Dub" Dellinger - Age 93 Hope is the most over- looked word in serving a living Lord, and no one but you knows the strength of your hope. When you apply hope in the right place and the Lord sees what you are willing to do, then you are in the right frame of mind to please your Savior. An action has already begun in you. It started the day you were saved; reborn into the arms of your new spiritual Father. Anyone can start today if the right time comes to pass. Proverbs says "The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death." That hope is Christ in you and your hope of Heaven because we believe in God and Jesus as one. Jesus says when you see me, you see the Father. I and my Father are one. Now this may come as a surprise to some of you, but Jesus wants to say the same thing about you and Him. Can people see Jesus in you as they saw His Father in Him? If Christ is living in you, then you have the hope of glory and Heaven is just down the road a few breaths. The Bible says by faith Abraham believed in the land of promise "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." Hebrews 11:8-12. Have you checked on your faith lately? Remember that faith is a personal gift of the Savior. Faith and salvation work together and we as believers, come out the winners. 1 Peter, Chapter 2 says, "Wherefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies and envies and all evil speak- ings." I hope that both you and I now stand clear of any kind of sin. Why? There will not be one sin that can get into Heaven. As the Word says, For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." 1 Corinthians 7:10. It worked for David of old and Christ had not yet come, so it could only be counted rightness. Now with Jesus risen and on your side, you can have the true rightness. Today, some church- es lead their people way off base by putting too much emphasis on water baptism and the Lord's Supper. Until you have been reborn; saved, you should not even partici- pate. There is no saving grace in either of these. They are an outward testimony of what has happened to you on the inside by the saving grace of our Lord and Savior. Do these with reverence, but only after you have accepted Jesus and the free pardon of sin. Listen to Dub's message each Sunday at 9 am on WADA - 1390AM. Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. White bass are usually not difficult to catch but it does pay to have several varieties of lures ready to use with different fishing conditions and moods of the fish. My #1 choice is a small white jig with either a hair dressing or small plastic curly tail. Sizes from 3/16—1/32 ounce are best. If jigs don't produce, a good choice is a tailspinner such as the Blakemore Roadrunner. Small vibrating lures also can work well. If they are concentrated in tight schools on a deep hole, try ¼ to ½ ounce slab spoons or small blade type lures.
