NED JAKE COSTNER Mr. Ned Jake Costner, 82 of Shelby, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. A graveside service as held at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby. Mr. Costner served our country in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Barbara Champion Costner and his parents, Ham Jake and Mollie Leanna Beam Costner. He is survived by his 2 sons, Terry Hugh Costner and wife Barbara of Shelby; and Gary Costner of California; one sister, Mildred Cornwell and husband Hugh of Forest City, NC; and one sister, Betty Mitchem of Columbia, SC. Cleveland Funeral Services & Crematory is serving the family. DIANE LEE WARE Mrs. Diane Lee Ware, 68, of Ellenboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Mrs. Ware was preced- ed in death by her parents, Shannon R. and Evangeline Peeler Lee and a brother, Dennis Lee. She is survived by her husband, David H. A grave- side funeral was held at Cleveland Memorial Park. Mr. Carter served our country in the US Navy. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Gerusha Carter; five sibblings, John A. Carter, Ford Carter, Coley Garriga, Addie Hughes and Mary Louise Olive and an infant daughter, Joann Elaine. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Mae Carter; son John D. Carter and his wife Becky; son Allan Carter and Meg Ryan; sister-in-law Carolin Girault; 3 grandchildren and many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul James Wortman and an infant daughter, Jennifer Danielle Wortman. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by her by her lov- ing husband of 59 years, Enos Dixon; her parents, late Phifer "P.C" and Mary Edwards McDaniel and sis- ter, Betty Bridges. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lynn Dixon Patterson and husband Tony of Rutherfordton; sis- ter Doris Cash Bridges of Shelby; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and special friend of the family, Paula Sutherland. RALPH HUTCHINSON MCCLURE Mr. Ralph Hutchinson McClure, 87, of 21 Isle Plaza, Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011. Burial was held at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery with military hon- ors provided by Cherryville American Legion Post #100. Mr. McClure served our country in the US Army dur- ing WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific and the Philippines with the 866th Engineering Battalion. He was preceded in death his parents, William David McClure, Jr. and Mary Isabela Thompson McClure and brothers, Robert B. McClure, John T. McClure and Donald A. McClure.
