The Times (Noblesville, Ind.) is looking for a retail ad manager who will lead staff to not just sell ads but help clients achieve results. This job will include selling, teach- ing, training, nurturing and more than anything achieving. If you have a successful sales background in which you consis- tently meet and exceed goals and are looking for the opportunity to advance, this might be for you. To 5, the Rushville Republican print edition will publish on Tuesday and Friday. The Greensburg Daily News will discontinue its Monday edi- tion. By combining the Thursday and Saturday editions, the Republican will give readers more news in their Friday publication with an addi- tional day of newsgathering between editions, said Laura Welborn, publisher of south- eastern Indiana media for parent company Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. The staffs will continue to expand their news cover- age on electronic platforms, including rushville republican.com, greensburg dailynews.com, Facebook and Twitter. The changes are partly driven by readers, advertisers and business partners and how they access news and information, Welborn said. Sports editor – The Spencer County Journal-Democrat, a mid- sized weekly newspaper in Rock- port, Ind., has an opening for a sports editor. The sports editor writes and pro- duces the weekly sports sections, annual sports preview sections and special sections and makes addi- tional contributions to the 3,000- circulation weekly. Successful applicant must be a strong sports writer and paginator/ page designer. This person must be dedicated to excelling at local sports coverage, identifying and producing enterprise stories and contributing to non-sports sections. Candidate should be a self-starter who proactively maintains sports coverage by staying on top of upcoming sporting events and activities and planning coverage. Must be organized, deadline- conscious and a stickler for accu- racy and fairness. A bachelor's degree, journalism preferred, or one or more years experience in the newspaper field is required. Candidates should have experience with QuarkXPress and Photoshop as well as Office programs. The Journal-Democrat provides local sports coverage for two high schools plus youth and recreational sports.
