There are 114 tent structures nestled around the Great Auditorium. The canvas tents are put up in mid-May and taken down in mid-September. The tents are attached to wooden cottages, which stand year-round. Generally, the tents are used as living rooms and the cottages as kitchens and bedrooms. Below: Historic Thornley Chapel, at the corner of Pilgrim Pathway and Mt. Tabor Way, was built in 1889. Part of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, it was used for children's services. Right, top: The Youth Temple and surrounding park area is part of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association and the primary site today for a variety of youth activities. Right, bottom: The Great Auditorium and Auditorium Pavilion on Ocean Pathway. More than one hundred- years-old and built to standards set forth in the Book of Genesis, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association owns and maintains the 5,500 seat Great Auditorium. The auditorium is famous for its wonderful acoustics. In the summer months, it hosts family entertainment with top name Christian and popular entertainers on Saturday nights and some of the greatest preachers in the world on Sunday mornings. On Thursday nights, there are chamber music concerts, light opera per- formances, and organ recitals on the 107-year-old, world-famous Hope-Jones pipe organ. The historic organ, with over 11,000 pipes, is one of the largest in the country and draws organ enthusiasts from around the world. This massive instrument is capable of producing musical sounds from a gentle whisper to a mighty roar. JERSEY SHORE IMAGES OCEAN GROVE IN BLOOM, continued from page 53
