Soap Updates Teresa Castillo stars in "General Hospital" By Jacqui Wiens TV Media Saying 'I do': They say mar- riage is one of the biggest events in your life. It's also one of the most logistically complicated — merging two people's lives, fami- lies, jobs and belongings into one cohesive household is no easy task. There can be a lot of growing pains, especially if the newlyweds haven't previously lived together and gotten used to one anothers' idiosyncrasies. Bravo has latched onto this premise, taking viewers inside the lives of four couples from their marriages to their first-year anni- versaries. Last year's series pre- miere of "Newlyweds: The First Year" drew in just over one million viewers, with the season average holding steady around one million viewers over eight episodes. Tune in when "Newlyweds: The First Year" season 2 premieres Tuesday, March 10, on Bravo. While there are commonalities amongst each of the couples fea- tured on season 2 of "Newly- weds," they all have their unique situations and challenges as well. Erik Courtney and his wife, Na- dine Jolie Courtney, dated for only four months before deciding to take the leap into married life. Erik was raised by his mother — an Episcopalian nun — and Nadine grew up in a traditional Middle Eastern family, so there are some cultural differences that need smoothing out. Eric, in particular, has difficulty with Nadine's tradi- tional, conservative father. Erik works as an IT consultant, while Nadine is working on publishing her third novel. Writing is a tough job, as Laura Leigh Abby could tell you. She's working on becoming a profes- sional writer and struggling with the guilt of allowing her wife, Sa- mantha Abby, to support her until she finds her own success. Saman- tha founded a production compa- ny called Penny Lane Pictures about three years ago and has been working to grow the compa- ny. Samantha and Laura have been dating for seven years and grow- ing alongside each other. They're looking forward to the next steps in their journey, including exploring options for parenthood. Power couple Kirk and Laura Knight are also trying to expand their family, although Kirk has teenagers of his own. Kirk owns a commercial real estate investment firm, and Laura owns an insurance brokerage. Additionally, Laura teaches Pilates, and Kirk runs an Internet startup. While Kirk enjoys his bachelor lifestyle and luxury condo, Laura is pushing for a baby and suburban house. Combining your lives when you're older is only more difficult than it is when you're young. Rouvaun Walker and Toi Trout- man-Walker rekindled an old ro- mance after reconnecting on Fa- cebook. Now in their mid-40s, the pair fell madly in love and dropped everything to be togeth- er.
