Tuscan Ridge Estate Winery Tuscan Ridge is a boutique winery and tasting room at 19260 Ridge Road in Red Bluff. Hours are 3-7 p.m. Fridays, noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Manton vineyards The town of Manton, east of Red Bluff on Manton Road off Highway 36E, is home to six vineyards — Indian Peak, Alger, Ringtail, Mt. Tehama, Cedar Crest and Shasta Daisy. All except Mt. Tehama offer regularly scheduled tastings noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and other times by appointment. Mt. Tehama welcomes drop-ins as time permits. The area is reminiscent of how Napa Valley wineries got their start, and you are likely to meet and taste with the winemaker and vintner in a relaxed, friendly setting. Some of the large variety of wines produced in Manton are available at Red Bluff retail and grocery stores. Maps to the vineyards, which are all within 5 miles of each other, are available at Julia's Diner as you enter town. Manton is on the way to Lassen Volcanic National Park and definitely worth the stop. Burnsini Vineyard Friends Tom Burnham and Jim Tomasini combined their names and talents to establish Burnsini Vineyard in 2000. With 10 acres in Cottonwood, off Bowman Road, the winemakers produce five varieties of reds, many available in Red Bluff retail stores. Call (530) 347-4765 to arrange a tasting appointment and tour and get directions New Clairvaux Vineyard With deep, fer tile loam soils and mild climate, New Clairvaux is an ideal site for modern winemaking. Leland Stanford operated the world's largest vineyard, winery and distillery at the site in 1890, known as Leland Stanford's Great Vina Ranch. The first Cistercian winery in Nor th America, New Clairvaux produces several varieties of fine wine and offers tastings 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment at (530) 839-2200.
