Welcome to Corning, enjoy the quiet rural life style and friendliness of the citi- zens. It is a great city to visit or live. With our ideal loca- tion in the center of the north valley along I-5 you are just a short drive from the many activi- ties the north state provides. But the reason that you would come to Corning is the rural setting of a small town where you can get to know the people and enjoy the more relaxed way of life. You will have a chance to take part in the decisions that are made, because you will know and be able to talk to the local leaders. We have both a top rated police and fire departments that are very community active and our schools offer great academic and athletic opportunities for all students. New to Corning this year is Corning Community Park which is the location of the best skateboard and bike park in Northern California. Corning has week long celebrations each year, May Madness Car Show (May), Corning Jr. Rodeo (May), Olive Festival (August) and Hometown Christmas (December) that brings both the locals and visitors to the downtown area for a fun time. Corning has a very rich and colorful histo- ry, with the olive industry that just contin- ues to grow with the city, it is with this history and a well planned future and our location, that I think makes Corning the best place to live and visit in the north state. So I invite you to come and enjoy Corning. Mayor Gary R.
