Because the staff did before and a er testing he was able to track how much he had improved, which gave him a real sense of accomplishment. Although Glyn has completed the 16-week program he continues to come three times a week to exercise for a small monthly fee. "I enjoy coming and working out with the staff and all the friends I've made since I began this journey. Pulmonary Rehab is a great program, run by a great group of people. I would highly recommend this program to anyone." Broadway Street Forest City, NC 28043 Hours: 8:30-5:00 MEAT-FREE MEALS MEAT-FREE MEALS Article Provided By: Metro Editorial Come late winter, diners may notice more meat-free selections available on restaurant menus. That's thanks to the Lenten season that precedes Easter Sunday. During Lent, Christians traditionally abstain from eating meat on Fridays. Lent is an ideal time for men and women looking to get healthier to include more vegetables, whole grains and seafood in their diets. Try substituting ground beef with tofu, and incorporate vegetables where meat may be used. For example, layer lasagna with slices of zucchini instead of fi lling it with sausage. Plus, eat more fi sh. Research shows that fi sh high in omega-3 fatty acids decreases the risk of abnormal heartbeats, which can lead to sudden cardiac death. Omega-3 fatty acids also decrease triglyceride levels, slow the growth rate of atherosclerotic plaque and lower blood pressure. "Forest City Kiwanis Club" Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child & one community at a time. All funds raised by Kiwanis go to our supported charities.
