OUTDOOR TRUTHS Many of my friends have been using every spare moment for the last several weeks trying to fi ll their buck tag. Some are holding out for a certain deer while others are not as picky. But no matter which type of hunter they are, there is one thing that is certain; both are growing tired. The early mornings are becoming less exciting and the cold weather makes even the preparation that much more diffi cult. Some will lay their weapon down and wait until next year. For myself, I am also lingering a little longer on the pillow. The days of not seeing a deer seem to fi ll my mind more than the days that I have actually had some success. The battle is whether to believe the pursuit will eventually bring the prize that I am so desirous of....... and am I willing to wait that long. If you are like me you have some pretty large pursuits. There are some events or accomplishments in your life that you are hoping materialize and that you have been working hard to- ward. Right now, however, you are tired from the pursuit. The days of drought have turned into periods of doubt. The ob- stacles that once seemed conquerable now look insurmount- able. And the problems you once overcame have simply been replaced by newer ones. The battle is now moving to the mind. The mind says quit, move on, and reach for something else more within grasp. The body and spirit agree. And then there's the truth. Truth always trumps the mind, spirit, and body. It vali- dates or voids. It confi rms or nullifi es. It reprograms the mind to reality, refreshes the body, and reinvigorates the spirit. Truth does not need any prop. It stands alone and it is there for us. Are you tired from the pursuit of your ambition? Are you lin- gering longer on the pillow? Is your mind telling you to quit and that there is no use to keep working toward the goal? If so, take a hard look at the truth. That is, fi nd out what God says about your pursuit. After all, He is Truth. He will confi rm or deny what your mind, body, and spirit are saying about your search. And if needed, He will put you back on the right track; but not toward an easier goal, but one that is in His perfect will and one that will give you the fulfi llment that your are longing for. When that happens you will no longer just work as if everything is up to you, but you will also pray as if everything is up to God. Each draw hunt item will indicate the deadline for which applications must be submitted. 2) Permit hunt items are randomly drawn each year. They are not drawn in any specifi c order. 3) The odds in favor of being selected as a party are no different than those of being selected as an individual. Applying as a party ensures all applicants in the party will be selected or not selected. 4) When drawing hunt items, the system draws Party ID numbers, not individual names. Each party, whether it has one member or fi ve, is assigned one unique Party ID number. 5) Hunters may only apply once per hunt item number. 6) Hunt choices are awarded in order of preference. Where applicable, you should apply for hunt choices in order of preference. You may use the "Notes" section in the back of this guide to list your hunt choices. 7) Hunters will not be awarded multiple permits for the same day. When applying, you should keep this in mind to avoid potential date confl icts. 8) To join another's hunt party, you must have the Party ID number that was provided to you by the hunter who started the party. 9) Hunters wishing to join another's hunt party should not select "Start a New Party" during the application process. They should select "Join an Existing Party" and enter the Party ID number provided to them by the hunt party organizer. 10) Hunters not wishing to join a hunt party should select "Start a New Party" during the application process. Those hunters starting a new party will be given a Party ID number to provide others wishing to join the party hunt. 11) All members of a party hunt must submit their application prior to the application deadline. HUNTERS CANNOT ADD OTHER HUNTERS TO THEIR PARTY AFTER THE APPLICATION DEADLINE OR AFTER THE DRAWING IS COMPLETE. 12) Hunt items categorized as Youth/Adult require both the youth and adult to apply as a party and both must have a permit to hunt. Single party applications for Youth/Adult hunts will be disqualifi ed from the drawing. 13) At the time of application, it is important you confi rm your mailing and email address is correct. You will not receive your permit if your mailing address is incorrect and you will not be notifi ed when the drawings are complete if your email address is incorrect. 14) You should always review your purchase receipt or order confi rmation carefully and contact the Commission immediately at 888-248-6834, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. if there are problems. Changes may not be made after the application deadline has passed. 15) When applying online you will always have the opportunity to print an order confi rmation. Those applying online or by phone will receive an order confi rmation via email. Those applying at an agent will be given an order confi rmation (receipt). If for some reason you do not receive your order confi rmation (receipt) after you have completed your purchase, you should contact the Commission immediately at 888-248- 6834.
