While the inside was not unattractive, it did not possess the same depth and consis- tency to lift it into the top two. Third place No award given. Organization, use of graphics and photography are clearly at a higher level than most of the papers in the classification. Solid writing and interesting paper. Second place Sports Staff Daily Journal (Franklin) Comments: Nice, solid paper, but lacks the excitement and pizzazz of some of the other papers in the category. Could work on page layout and design. Third place Sports Staff The Goshen News Comments: Not nearly as visually appealing as several of the other papers in the category. However, solid writing and a clear vision of what to cover lifts the paper above some of the competition.
