OKLAHOMA SHOULD BE READY FOR ATTACKS. To be prepared... As the only news reporter allowed covering this story for the Center for Security Policy, founded by Frank Gaffney, President and CEO, located in Washington D.C. Mr. Gaffney is also the Former Asst. Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy under the Reagan Administration. On Monday, October 13, 2014, speaker, Claire Lopez, Senior Fellow Center for Security Policy & Former Career Operations Officer, CIA, conducted a Counter- terrorism seminar to statewide law enforcements bureau on "Iran, Hezbollah and the Drug Cartels. Lopez joined by Frank Gaffney, provided an overview of the Iranian and Hezbollah threat to United States soil, the financial sector and terrorism support from Venezuela, Hezbollah, Cartels, narco-trafficking and money-laundering into the United States. Law enforcement left prepared with more information on these important topics and a better understanding on how the threat of Electro-Magnetic Pulse [EMP] Attack can wipe out our national electrical system and possibly leave our nation without power for about a year, if we do not push congress to fix the potential threat. It is the reason why they came to Oklahoma, and they spoke at the Oklahoma Capitol Hill to Oklahoma legislatures about their concerns, and how Oklahoma can become more prepared. Lopez further said, "With the growing threat of Iran developing nuclear weapons, the likelihood of conflict between Israel and Iran is increasing by the day. e current threats posed to America and Oklahoma by Iran and the terrorist group Hezbollah, working in conjunction with Mexican Drug Cartels, who are infiltrating the U.S. in daily increasing numbers, as well what can be done to confront these threats is to be aware how serious those threats are. Gaffney reported that "the nation's bulk power distribution system can be disrupted or destroyed over large areas due to various man-caused and naturally occurring phenomena. Gaffney further said, that "…congress is aware of this [EMP] but has done nothing to fix it." e community can help the local police department by reporting anonymously any strange activity they see in their neighborhoods. Residents can call the city on how to start a neighborhood watch if they do not have one. As a caution, residents do not approach and ask questions when they see a suspicious activity, but instead, talk to their neighborhood watchdog leader or contact their local enforcers. e key is not to panic. Fear paralyzes logical thinking. In every situation, every resident should be prepared for anything, whether it is man-made disasters, or community incidents. Having a prepared disaster kit with, hand radio, flash light, candles, matches, maps, important documents, identification copies, and emergency phone numbers, back up batteries are just a few simple things that can be thrown in a back pack for your family. It is better to be prepared for anything than not prepared at all and go into panic state of mind. Special thanks to Tommy Walker, Clare Lopez and Frank Gaffney, for allowing me to be a listener on counter-terrorism seminar.
