Tupelo, Mississippi waited to see who they would play for the championship between the winner of Tuesday's 5 p.m. game between Las Vegas and Eden Prairie. The fi rst game was a pitch- ers duel and the fi nal score was 2-1 in favor of the Minnesota team. Then, at 8 p.m., Minnesota's Eden Prairie, who had been denied the championship last year, showed their determination to overcome a 4-0 early lead by Tupelo and eke out a 13 inning 5-4 victory, and win the Series' last two games. The fi nal day's journey started at 5 p.m. at Keeter Stadium and ended just shy of mid- night on Veterans Field. It was a great display of a team spirit that gave Min- nesota's Eden Prairie their triumph. The championship was a record setting game before a record setting number of baseball fans in Shelby, North Caro- lina. –M.A. Andrews shelbyinfo.com At The At The 100Gift Certifi cate to WIN WIN Shelby Shopper & Info Tent Shelby Shopper & Info Tent Last year's runner-up... not denied 2011.
