Three school districts in Waukesha County obtained an overall accountability rating that significantly exceeds expectations in student achieve- ment and engagement. Schools From Page 1A "While this is but one indicator of what we value, it is information that we are proud to share with our community and our legislators," said Pat Deklotz, Kettle Moraine School District superintendent. "Kettle Moraine remains focused on providing stu- dents with excellence in learning opportunities. The report cards demonstrate the value we provide our community and business partners." The Waukesha Engineering Preparatory Acade- my follows in third place. Pewaukee High School is seventh in the state with 88.1, and the Waukesha Academy of Health Professionals is 13th. Brookfield East High School and Brookfield Cen- tral High School from the Elmbrook School District are both present on the list — Brookfield East com- ing in 14th place with 86.2 and Brookfield Central in 19th with 84.3. Hamilton High School was ranked 16th with 85.2 and Muskego High School 23rd with 83.9. Wisconsin Hills Middle School of the Elmbrook School District was the only middle school in the county to significantly exceed expectations with a score of 84.6. Five Waukesha County school districts made the list of elementary schools that significantly exceed- ed expectations — the Elmbrook School District with four schools on the list, Mukwonago School District with three schools, Hamilton School Dis- trict with three schools, Kettle Moraine School Dis- trict with two schools, and New Berlin School Dis- trict with one school. Overall, the DPI report cards for Wisconsin schools and school districts show that the majority met or exceeded expectations for the 2013-14 school year, according to the release. "Most of our public schools and school district are providing a solid education to our children, but we don't want to rest on our laurels," said state Super- intendent Tony Evers. "These report cards are a good communication device to focus discussion among parents, schools, and communities on how our schools and school districts are doing and how they can continue to improve." Along the report card's five accountability rat- ings, nine districts statewide significantly exceed expectations, including the Elmbrook School Dis- trict, Hamilton School District, and Swallow School District. One hundred and fifty-nine districts exceed expectations and 247 meet expectations, the release said. Milwaukee Public Schools failed to meet expec- tations, and seven districts met few expectations.
