A native of McDowell County he was a son of G.K. and Emma Sue Riddle Ayers, a veteran of the U.S. Army and mem- ber of Spencer Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary Louise Holland Ayers, two children Ronnie Mauney and Benita Ayers; grand- children Andrew Ayers, Christopher Ayers and Tony Ayers, great grand- children Kailynn Ayers, Austin Ayers, Lucas Ayers and Clay Godfrey; three daughters in law Cathy Ellenburg, Jane Mauney and Gloria Ayers. In addi- tion to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Don Keith Ayers. Funeral services were held at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiat- ing. Concluding services were held at Eternal Hills Cemetery. Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the Ayers Family. ROBERT "BOBBY" WATERS R o b e r t " B o b b y " W a t e r s , age 66, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014. Born August 28, 1948 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Grady Mal Waters & Frances Price Waters. Bobby did textile work most of his life, working for Stonecutter for several years & self-employed for many years. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Survivors include his son, Robert Paul Waters of Gilkey; three sisters, Mildred Parker and husband, Raymond of Spindale, Peggy Morgan and husband, Lloyd of Union Mills and Judy Waters of Rutherfordton; three brothers, Steve Waters and wife, Becky of Forest City, Lee Waters and wife, Doris of Spindale and Don Price of Cross Hill, SC. Funeral services were conducted at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Leon Brown and Reverend Roger Hudgins officiat- ing. Interment followed in the Sandy Level Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. Richard was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as General Manager for Continental Airlines. Richard was the son of the late Clifford and Estella Orner. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Orner, son Eric Orner, daughters Renee Hedgepath, and Rebecca Featherson. Brother Clifford Orner Jr. and sister Linda Hamilton. A private graveside service will be held with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
