Hot Weekend! The heatwave that has been gripping the middle of the country all Summer, is going to slide east and give us a taste of the terrible heat. A strong dome of hot air will slide east on Thursday and bring with it just pure sunshine and a lot of hot air. This is a huge dome of sinking air, so the chances of afternoon thunderstorms are few and far between and even at night the temperatures won’t fall much. Unfortunately, we’re locked into this repeating pat- tern where the mega-heat dome sits over Oklahoma and Texas, then rolls east, then goes back out west. There’s really no end in sight to the overall pattern, but eventually we’ll get back into some evening showers and storms.
