Post Staff MILWAUKEE — The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking nominations for the annual Wisconsin Woman Veteran of the Year Award. As part of the WDVA's ongoing commit- ment to women veterans, the award recog- nizes women veterans who have compiled a record of exemplary service as a military service member, a veteran, and as an out- standing member of the community. "Wisconsin is home to many women veterans who served their country and then returned home to civilian life to serve in their communities. The Woman Veteran of the Year Award is a great opportunity to recognize this outstanding dedication," WDVA Secretary John A. Scocos said. Nominations will be accepted from any Wisconsin resident, veteran, county veter- ans service officer, veterans service organ- ization or group and should be submitted before Oct. 1. Nomination forms are available online: http://www.wisvets.com/WebForms/WDV A_2068_Woman_Veteran_of_the_Year_No mination.pdf Forms can be mailed to those who call to request it by calling toll-free at 800-947- 8387.
