Larry Barr, Pastor Jim Williams, Associate Pastor Living FAiTH CHuRCH inTERnATionAL Born of the Spirit Jesus answered, "Most as- suredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit" ( John 3:5 -8). When we made Jesus our Lord and chose to walk the road of a disciple, something changed on the inside of us. That which was in us was dead. Our lives were only carnal and fleshly. But all that was turned upside down when we became Christians. The very core of our being was reborn. That which was dead was alive again and forged into something nev- er before created. We are not to be dominat- ed by the flesh, the Word is clear about that. But to un- derstand why is so vitally im- portant to being enabled to walk as Christ walked. Read Ephesians 4:17-19. Here we see a picture of what we were before we came to Jesus and this is the opposite of what we are now in Christ. Read I Corin- thians 2:16, Ephesians 1:18, Colossians 1:21, I Corinthi- ans 1:30 and Acts 15:9. We are born of the Spirit, though we may not be able to put into words what has happened to us. On the in- side, the wind of the Spir- it has blown. And just like the wind, to explain where it comes from and where it goes is futile. We who are born of the Spirit are led by the Spirit. God often asks us to do things that are outside our comfort zone and don't line up with our natural under- standing of ourselves. We must remember that we are no longer fleshlings. We are spirit empowered believers in Christ. Let the courage of the Spirit move through you to- day. Blessings. A remover Someone said, "Alcohol will remove grass stains from summer clothes. It will also remove summer clothes, also spring and win- ter clothes, not only from the man who drinks it, but also from his wife and children. It will also remove household furniture from the house and eatables from the pan- try; the smile from the face of his wife and happiness from the home. As a remov- er, alcohol has few equals." The Apostle Paul said, "Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one an- other in psalms and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:17-20). "I used to think that I could carry a few of my more wounded sisters over the fin- ishing line, but I realize now what a disservice that is. It is not love. We are not called to take each other's burdens away. We are called to share that burden, to walk along- side. We are called to keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith"— Sheila Walsh. We are remembering in prayer those in our church and community who are struggling with health issues and other burdens. May we always be there to share that burden, whatever it may be, to walk along beside them, to make their load lighter. We welcome you to wor- ship with us. Kyle Moore, Pastor Marla Morrison, Reporter gLEZEn g.B. CHuRCH Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10 :30 a.m.; This Wednesday will be our monthly business meeting. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. Forgiveness brings health. It can free our bonds and keep bitterness from eating away at us. The ini- tial step toward wholeness through forgiving is the hardest. God can help us with this journey as we re- member how much He for- gave us and how we are to do the same for others. "If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake" (II Cor- inthians 2:10). Eddie Willis, Pastor Karri Brock, Reporter HouSE oF MERCy CHuRCH We, as the children of God should look out be- yond ourselves and see the world with the eyes of Jesus. There are so many people that are lonely, hurt- ing and destitute waiting for someone to come along side and put something positive, some hope in to their lives. Will you be His hands, feet, and His mouth, the body of Christ going where He so sends you with His love in your life? We welcome those that are hurting, despondent, have no joy, or cannot find peace. We are a family oriented church with open arms and hearts to receive, and then touch through the preach- ing and teaching of God's Word. The Church is Pen- tecostal and we love Jesus. Services: 10 a.m. Sunday morning with teen and chil- dren's classes at 10 :45 a.m.; Thursday night service at 7 p.m. Every fourth Sunday of the month we minister in song and the Word of God at Amber Manor in Peters- burg at 2 p.m. Remember that one day Jesus is coming back. Will you be ready to go with Him to our Heavenly home? Think about it. Pray for the sick, the hurt- ing, helpless, and hopeless that they can find release and relief. To God be the Glory. George Bruce, Pastor MT. PiSgAH g.B. CHuRCH "Your faith and hope are in God" (I Peter 1:21). We get so used to this world that we lose sight of the next. We get used to the darkness and chaos of this world's suffering and vio- lence that we lose sight of the brightness of Him who alone could say, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life" ( John 8:12). He alone is "the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world," ( John 1:29). He alone is the Hope of the hopeless, the Savior of the lost, the Guide of the wan- dering. He alone is "the radi- ance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word" (He- brews 1:3). CHuRCH Sunday school 9:30 a.m. and morning worship ser- vice 10 :30 a.m. Everyone is always welcome. We want to thank God for His mercy, love and an- swered prayer. Continue to pray for one another, the un- saved, the prayer list, for all who are traveling, for the sick and needy, for the ones in hospitals and nursing homes, for the military and their families, our President and his family, and all deci- sions that are made. Remember to pray for our country and our religious freedoms. We want to extend our sympathy to anyone who has lost a loved one. To live a Christian life, one must put Christ first. Be aware of right and wrong. The things that we were taught were sin are now con- sidered permissible. If it was sin then, it is sin now. We should pray about it and go to the Bible for our answer. We can also ask ourselves... Will it hurt our witness as a Christian? If someone sees a church attendee out in a public place, and they are conduct- ing themselves and their lan- guage in a very unChristian manner, it may make a dif- ference in that person's opin- ion of Christianity. We need to be very aware at all times of our own actions. We nev- er want to be the reason for anyone turning away from Christ. When you pray, if you don't get the answer you need, just keep trusting and when the time is right, you will get it. All David had was faith and a rock...and he defeated a giant. All you need is faith in the Rock...to defeat yours. "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliver- er; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buck- ler, and the horn of my sal- vation, and my high tower," (Psalm 18:2). Remember: The best ex- ercise is to bend down and help someone up. Have a great week. Dale Frederick, Pastor Lois K.
