July 12 Uke-e-okie 8 p.m., The Star Theater 44 Main St., Cherry Valley Sure, you've done karaoke. But have you ever done UKE-e-okie? That's right: karaoke sung to ukelele music. Presented by Cherry Valley Artworks, this ... unique experience may just be worth the trip north. Did we mention there's beer? July 25- Aug. 10 'Tartuffe' by Moliere Franklin Stage Company, Chapel Hall, 25 Institute St., Franklin 829-3700 | reserve@ franklinstagecompany.org. Called 'one of the most biting and hilarious comedies of all time,' this classic satire is as acerbic and astute as when it was penned 350 years ago. FSC produc- tions are free and open to the public, but call ahead for reservations. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 5 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, July 26. Aug. 1 Conor Oberst with Dawes and The Baseball Project 7 p.m., Brewery Ommegang 656 County Highway 33, Middlefield $35-$50 | ommegang.com Who knows which Conor Oberst will show up at Brewery Ommegang for this show? Will this be a quiet, folksy, intimate evening? Backed by Dawes at a recent show in Kansas City, Oberst channeled The Band and projected a 1970s So-Cal vibe. Get your tickets now to find out. Aug. 2 Reggae T'ing Fest 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Dairy Field 8052 County Highway 18, Bloomville $10-$25 | http://dia-inc.comDAIRY- Field-GRS.html "Reggae" and "Bloomville" don't exactly go together like bacon and eggs. But this is upstate New York. A reggae show in a dairy field? Why not? This mini-festival promises to give a holistic experience, right down to the jerk chicken, rum punch and roasted yams (not stereotyping here, this is all from the event flier). The lineup features Glen Washington, Sammy Dread, Ed Robinson, Junie Ranks, Michael Palmer and upstate DJ Queen Tubby. Editor's Picks Conor Oberst O-Town Scene July 10, 2014 13
