No matter if it is your first child or your fourth, our network of board certified professionals will make you feel confident and set you at ease at every stage of your delivery. Our progressive technology and services coupled with our birthing options including midwifery, water- birth and traditional delivery methods help to make sure your delivery and the arrival of your baby is a safe and secure experience. Just as your baby is unique, your birth experience is too. In consultation with your physician and within your health requirements; you have options for your delivery: board certified physician, midwife, doula, traditional birth, and water birth are options we proudly support in our maternal child center. During labor, walking can be helpful for moms waiting to give birth. Our facility offers a variety of beautiful, calming gardens and pathways, including a spiritual garden, complete with park benches and water features. Our expert nursing team uses a Doppler fetal monitoring system to ensure your baby’s well-being during labor, so expectant mothers can walk with confidence and security. The St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Auxiliary has lead the way in supporting the Maternal Child wing with their various fundraising efforts and have contributed fetal monitors, state of the art security, overnight bed chairs, baby welcome baskets with hand knitted bonnets just to name a few. Meet other families who share your birthing experience through our family and new baby portraits displayed within the maternal child wing and offered by one of Tehama County’s best, We Shoot Ya Photography. Comfortable, private maternity suites equipped with the latest medical equipment permit labor, delivery, and recovery to take place within the same room, with your own doctor or midwife in attendance, and family members or friends standing close by for support and encouragement. After your baby arrives, our registered nurses stand ready to assist you with your baby including a certified lactation consultant. Our hospital out performs the state average for assessment of Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care according to the Department of Health and Human services.
