St. Elizabeth brings state-of-the-art health care to the North State THOMSON REUTERS St. Elizabeth Community Hospital A member of CHW St. Elizabeth Community Hospital is a Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospital in the nation for five years in a row and a recent recipient of the Thomson Reuters Performance Improvement Leaders award. The Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals® study evaluates performance in 10 areas: mortality; medical complications; patient safety; average patient stay; expenses; profitability; patient satisfaction; adherence to clinical standards of care; post-discharge mortality; and readmission rates for acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, and pneumonia. The study has been conducted annually since 1993. St. Elizabeth brings state-of-the-art health care to the North State communities. This hospital, with 76 licensed beds and a trauma level III, offers advanced services including endoscopic and laser surgery. St. Elizabeth Community Hospital provides critical, adult, pediatric and maternity care, as well as Home Health and Hospice programs and includes a state-of-the-art Imaging Center and Outpatient Surgery Center. The Maternal Child services include water birth; private rooms, midwifery and a team of board certified obstetricians and pediatricians providing a network of care with a team approach. Additionally, a recent partnership with the Soroptimists International of Red Bluff has introduced a new community education program, Discovering Women’s Health, featuring board certified specialists providing different topics related specifically to women, such as how to control an out of control bladder. The award winning orthopedic and joint replacement program garners much international notoriety and sets the platform for the notorious sports medicine program. Identified as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, St. Elizabeth joins it’s sister Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) facilities Mercy Medical Center Redding and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta as Blue Distinction Centers. Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement demonstrate their commitment to quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for knee and hip replacement care. The three CHW North State Hospitals meet evidence-based clinical criteria, developed in collaboration with a panel of expert physicians and medical organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and is subject to periodic re-evaluation as criteria evolve. Additionally, St. Elizabeth is proud to offer the north state’s most innovative acid reflux treatment programs providing a variety of diagnostic and treatment options for those who suffer from chronic reflux or gastroesaphogeal reflux disease. St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, over a century old, is a member of Catholic Healthcare West, the largest not- for-profit health care system in California. St. Elizabeth has been recognized with several ecology awards including the most recent Green Health Partnership award. As a not for profit provider with a rich history in the community, St. Elizabeth is proud to recognize its many donors and supporters through the assistance and partnership with Mercy Foundation North. This philanthropic arm of Catholic Healthcare West has assisted in the various fund raising campaigns needed to assit in providing the hospital the most current technology and capital needs. For nearly 10 years, the Foundation has celebrated the relationship with the Red Bluff Round Up Association and Tough Enough To Wear Pink. This annual event, celebrated on the last day of the April rodeo has raised over $100,000 in support of breast cancer awareness and diagnostics. St. Elizabeth is proud to be a sole community provider, however, should the need arise, Mercy Medical Center Redding is a short 34 mile drive north and provides intensive care services. In the north state, our CHW partners Mercy Medical Center Redding and Mercy Mt.
