Cedarburg's annual parade, one of the largest of its kind in Southeastern Wisconsin, leaves Firemen's Park at 10am on Friday, July 4, and proceeds south along Washington Avenue, ending at the intersection of Spring Street and Washington Avenue. Washington Avenue will be closed to traffic from 9:30am until the parade ends at approximately noon. Please remember that chairs or other articles may not be placed along Washington Avenue for parade viewing prior to 7pm on Thursday, July 3. For the safety of spectators and parade participants, there should be no shooting of water or items at spectators or vice versa. As in the past, parade participants may pass out candy or literature — but only at curbside. Nothing may be thrown from moving vehicles. Immediately following the parade, a daylong picnic featuring food and local entertainment will take place in Cedar Creek Park. The day will convene with a fireworks display in Cedar Creek Park at approximately 9:30pm. For fireworks safety reasons, Adlai Horn parking lot, off Columbia Road, will be closed all day to vehicles, but spectators may view the fireworks display from the northern section of the parking lot. The Cedar Creek Park footbridge will be closed at 9:15pm and will remain closed until the fireworks have finished. Cedar Creek, a popular area for boaters to congregate, will also be closed to the public approximately 375' east of the park grounds where the fireworks will be staged. As always, attendees are asked to refrain from bringing in or setting off fireworks.
