place you love," says
Beckham. "People
respond to that. We
have a regular tour the
first Saturday of every
month, when quite
a diversity of visitors
come through, and the
rest of the tours, which
are usually more spe-
cialized, are by arrange-
ment. The garden clubs
and the students are
the most enthusiastic
about what's actually
in the garden, and I'm
happy to tell them. It
has been a rich experi-
ence."
