The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, April 25, 2014 10 teacher mode, Flay comes across as approachable and charming with a real easy- going manner and quick smile. The best part about "Brunch @ Bobby's," though? When the credits roll, the show's not over. The show's page on the Cooking Channel's website (www.cooking channeltv.com) is loaded with extras, from previous episodes to extra non-tele- vised recipes to web-only videos full of helpful tips that you can't see anywhere else. Much like the meal itself, it's a pretty impressive spread. Brunch may have its detractors, but that doesn't mean that the rest of us can't enjoy this wonderful meal. Check out "Brunch @ Bob- by's" Tuesday evening on the Cooking Channel — brunch haters need not apply. OK, so that's a loaded question. A quick search of the Internet (where you can find people arguing about pretty much anything) turns up not only some folks who don't like the mid- morning meal, but whole communities of people rail- ing against it. Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has even waded into the anti-brunch fray, famously warning against ordering it at restau- rants. But this isn't about those brunch naysayers. For most of us, brunch is a wonderful weekend or holiday delight, a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch that's a perfect excuse to get together with family and friends. Luckily, Bobby Flay has our back on this one. Even if we heed Bourdain's advice and avoid restaurant brunch, we can still turn to Flay for some just downright awe- some advice on how to whip up a fantastic meal-be- tween-meals. "Brunch @ Bobby's" airs Tuesday evenings on the Cooking Channel. A lot of people may be more familiar with Flay's more competitive side. His "Iron Chef: Ameri- ca" persona where he takes on chefs one-on-one in a personal culinary battle is iconic, and his other Food Network shows like "Beat Bobby Flay" do little to dis- pel the notion that this guy's in it to compete. There's another side to him, though, and it's fully on display in "Brunch @ Bob- by's."
