5 The Daily Star, Oneonta, N.Y., Friday, April 25, 2014 By Andrew WarrenTV Me- dia Off to Storybrooke: One of Wonderland's many bi- zarre residents is heading to Maine. "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" may have been canceled after only a single season, but that doesn't mean that the fairy tale spinoff's characters are all going the way of Humpty Dumpty. The man behind the sar- castic Knave of Hearts will be joining the cast of ABC's "Once Upon a Time" for its eventual fourth season now that his current series, "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," has been canceled by the al- phabet network. English actor Michael So- cha was a viewer favorite in "Wonderland," so this op- portunity for him to remain in the role is at least a small consolation for the fans of the canceled spinoff series. "Wonderland" was his first major role on American tele- vision, but avid watchers of TV from across the pond may also know him from the Brit- ish "Being Human," "This Is England '86" and "Casualty." He'll be joining a roster of impressive talent on the set of "Once Upon a Time," in- cluding Ginnifer Goodwin ("Big Love") as Snow White, Jennifer Morrison ("House M.D.") as Emma Swan, Josh Dallas ("Thor," 2011) as Prince Charming, Robert Car- lyle ("The World is Not Enough," 1999) as Rumples- tiltskin and Meghan Ory ("True Justice") as Red Rid- ing Hood. TV shows come and go, but fairy tales are timeless. Watch for the Knave of Hearts to show up in Story- brooke next season. Age of Duchovny: He's been an FBI agent looking for the truth "out there" and an esteemed writer plagued by personal demons, and now David Duchovny is coming full circle and returning to law enforcement. The handsome Duchovny burst into the popular con- sciousness in the 1990s with "The X Files," and since 2007 he's been the star of Showtime's "Californica- tion." That dark comedy hit is currently in its sixth and fi- nal season, but with its end in sight, Duchovny has already signed on with NBC for a spe- cial 13-episode event series. "Aquarius" was recent- ly ordered straight to series, bypassing the usual pilot stage, and with a big- ticket actor in the lead and a script ripped straight from decades- old headlines, it's looking like a prom- ising series to keep an eye out for. Of course, in Texas, the Final Four refers to the number of Democrats in the legislature. I will try my hardest ever to give you people a great show. You know why? Because I know you're all armed. Today is opening day for Major League Baseball. By the way, just an hour ago the Houston Astros were mathematically eliminated. Southwest Airlines is headquartered in Dallas. In honor of this being their headquarters, the show will be delayed for two hours. Dallas is the largest city in America that is not near a large body of water. That explains the city's original motto: "Whose bright idea was this?" I've been loving it here in Dallas this week. Last night, I tried to eat healthy, so I went to a vegetarian restaurant. They serve a barbecued vegetarian. I like the way you Texans abbreviate things. "How do you do" became "howdy," "you all" became "y'all" and "hell on Earth" became "El Paso." Texas may soon be getting a bullet train. The train will run from Taco Cabana to the closest bathroom. late laughs Eastern Travel 3 x 5 Michael Socha as seen in "Once Upon a Time In Wonderland"
