“My paintings are a narration through varying environments. By fusing abstract settings with figu- rative elements, I create surround- ings that are evocative of life’s journey. Each piece is a new environ- ment to explore, just as we venture through chapters of life. There are many situations that are faced each day, and I imply those in my work. My sculptures are the embodi- ment of the self. By juxtapos- ing certain found objects together, I am creating new forms that inquire into the many stages of life and its meaning. Each object serves as a small piece of the narra- tive and facilitates to make up the whole. My work engages in a sense of re- flection about the journey within life.” Caputo’s artist statement Learning what you’re made of Orbis April 7, 2011 O-Town Scene 9 Sometimes I can see (Right through myself)
