Art People Edmond Caputo
Edmond Caputo was born in 1985 in Norwich, and raised nearby on Chenango Lake.
He studied at the State University College at Brockport, and is finishing his first year in a Master of Fine Arts program at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Caputo is a sculptor and painter who infuses his artwork with bold and vivid colors. His work deals with a combina- tion of abstract and figurative represen-
tations of life and its journey. His artwork has been exhibited at numerous locations, such as the home of the president at RIT; State of the Art Gal- lery, Ithaca; and the Rochester Contem- porary Art Center, Rochester. Caputo has received awards for his artwork, including Most Adventurous Concept at the Kismet Exhibit at SUNY Brockport and Best in Show at the Mem- bers Exhibit at the Chenango County Council of the Arts.

Caputo won the 2009 Best of Show in the annual Chenango County Council of the Arts Members’ Exhibit.
The CCCA will host the artist’s work in an exhibit that runs from April 8 to May 6. An opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the CCCA at 27 W. Main St. in Norwich. For more infor- mation, visit chenangoarts.org.
