WEEKEND OF WESTERNS John Wayne stars in “Chisum,” which will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Prime Cinemas in the Riverside Shopping Center. Lobby activities start at 6:30 p.m. with local country star Chad Bushnell. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6-12. Proceeds benefit Western Film Series 2012 in cooperation with Tehama County Arts Council. Tickets at door and Norm’s Printing, 659 Main St. in Red Bluff. “Challenge of Champions,” the National Cowboy Heritage Museum’s 2009 Western Heritage Wrangler Award winner, tells the story of the epic match between world champion Lane Frost and Red Bluff’s own champion bucking bull Red Rock. Friday, April 8th Prime Cinemas, 400 South Main In addition to a matinee screening at 2 p.m. and evening show at 7 p.m., there will be an evening reception featuring local stock contractor John Growney, photographer Sue Rosoff, both of whom are prominent in the film, and filmmaker David Wittkower.
