Their goal was to make delicious, fresh cheeses sourced from Straus Family Creamery, the fi rst certifi ed organic dairy in the West. Today, Cowgirl Creamery makes a small collection of cheese. Their famous washed rind triple cream, Red Hawk, is made in Point Reyes; and Mt Tam, St Pat, Pierce Pt, Devil's Gulch and Chimney Rock are made in Petaluma. Considered pioneers in the American artisan cheese movement, their certifi ed organic cheeses have won numerous accolades and awards. -Peggy Smith and Sue Conley Healthy Choices. Local Choices. LOCAL DAIRY After many years enjoying photography as a hobby, I began my photo greeting card business, "Kerry Dowdell Photo Art – USA" in 2007. Now seven years later this business continues to grow and expand with the help of great business owners such as United Markets. Many of the photos I take refl ect the beauty found throughout the areas where I have lived since 1967, including both Marin and Sonoma Counties. I recently added a new line of handcrafted cards and tags, created with the same care and attention as my photo cards. Check out my card display next time you stop into the store. – Kerry Dowdell LOCAL GIFTS & FLORAL As pioneers in organic eggs, we're a third generation, organic, family, egg farm located in beautiful Petaluma. It all started with the idea that my Mom, Judy, wanted to be able to feed her kids eggs that were held to same Organic standard as the food she was looking for on her local grocery store shelves. My dad, Steve, thought it was a great idea and from that, Judy's Family Farm was born. We are also Certifi ed Humane which gives our customers comfort know- ing that we always put our chickens fi rst. I've recently come back from the big city to work on the farm and continue our legacy as an organic family farm that cares. One family, our farm. -Judy and Steve's son, Jonathan Bay Cities Produce is a family owned company founded in 1947. My pop, Albert Dalmasso, started the business after the war, by selling produce out of the trunk of his Studebaker, in the early days many of the Italians settled into the produce business. We now have three generations of our family working at Bay Cities produce, my dad Albert and his wife Diana, myself and my son Vince. We still deliver to all the remaining businesses we delivered to when we fi rst started 67 years ago. Bay Cities Produce is proud of its record of food quality and safety and is ranked in the top 1% in the world. We take pride in what we do, and we want to ensure the highest quality of produce for the best price possible. – Steve Dalmasso Roberts Corned Meats is celebrating its 104 year in business, and as the 5th generation daughter Deborah says "That is a tremendous feat considering all we do is Corned Beef". We make our Corned Beef the old fashion way with no extra chemicals just an old fashion sugar cure. We have weathered the time because we are a specialty house. United Markets has been a customer of ours for over 50 years. My mother use to shop here before I was born. Jim Dixon (Owner and 4th Generation) use to come in as a young salesman and talk to the butchers!! We believe we have the best corned beef around and challenge anyone to a taste!!! – Debbie Ward Established in 1970 in the heart of the Sonoma Valley, Kenwood Vineyard is dedicated to producing premium wines truly representative of Sonoma County's world-class vineyards. Each lot from each vineyard is kept separate throughout the wine making process, enabling us to bring it to its fullest potential. This "small lot" or "cuvee" style of wine making also enables us to draw on an exceptionally broad "palette" to assemble wines that showcase classic character, subtle complexity and su- perb balance. As a result, every Kenwood Vineyards wine – whether Vintage Series, Sonoma Series, Reserve, Jack London Vineyard or Artist Series – is consistent in quality and consistently delicious. – Senior Winemaker, Pat LOCAL WINE
