The Press-Dispatch ★ Church news Continued from page 4 PLEASANT RIDGE G.B. CHURCH Sunday school 9:30 a.m. and morning worship 10:30 a.m. Everyone is always welcome. We want to thank God for His mercy, love and answered prayer. Continue to pray for one another, the unsaved, the prayer list, for all who are traveling, for the sick and needy, for the ones in hospitals and nursing homes, for the military and their families, our President and his family, and all decisions that are made. Also, remember to pray for our country and for our religious freedoms. We want to extend our sympathy to anyone who has lost a loved one. Say something positive about people instead of something negative. This could help them to have a reason to care, even have better goals in life. People listen to what we say and do even when we are unaware. Seek spiritual wisdom, understanding, and God's will for your life. Don't forget to pray for people. Invest your life in something worthwhile. Help others. Thought: We do not have absolute control over our destinies but we were made to be in a relationship with God. Remember: Billy Graham has always been faithful to preach the truth about repentance, a new birth, and the danger of sin. His old age, weakened body, and white hair have not silenced his voice. Christ and the cross will always be the heartbeat of this great man. Have a great week. Dale Frederick, Pastor Lois K. Fowler, Reporter Otwell Wesleyan Church Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10:30 a.m.; evening worship service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday morning women's Bible study at the fellowship hall 10 a.m. Youth group every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the fellowship hall. Three Hymns One Sunday, a pastor told his congregation that the church needed some extra money and asked the people to prayerfully consider giving a little extra in the offering plate. He said that whoever gave the most would be able to pick out three hymns. After the offering plates were passed, the pastor glanced down and noticed that someone had placed a $1,000 bill in the offering. He was so excited that he immediately shared his joy with his congregation and said he'd like to personally thank the person who placed the money in the plate. And there sat Rosie, all the way in the back, shyly raising her hand. The pastor asked her to come to the front. Slowly she made her way to the pastor. He told her how wonderful it was that she gave so much and asked her to pick out three hymns. Her eyes brightened as she looked over the congregation, pointed to the three most handsome men in the building and said, "I'll take him and him and him." Roy Stilwell, Pastor Pam Lemond, Reporter less you do." "Every professed Christian is either portraying or betraying Christ." The Apostle Paul said, "You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart" (II Corinthians 3:2-3).
