What a wild year 2010 has been. We started off cold and snowy, then had a very nice Spring, followed by the hottest Summer on record, then the Fall gave us several rounds of twisters, and now to top it all off our very first White Christmas, and the coldest December ever. So, what’s next? It looks like a brief break, and then here comes everything right back at us. We’ll have a round of rain on the first day of the new year, then much colder. By next week we’ll have more sunshine but storminess is looming in the distance, so you’ll want to follow my blog and see when our next chance of snow or ice is. I can’t pinpoint it now, but very soon we’ll be having another close call, and Winter isn’t done with us yet. Several factors still point to a cold and stormy pattern for the Carolinas for January, namely some strong blocking in Canada. I’m surprised at how strong, and how long it still shows up, and until it goes away, we are in danger of more snow and cold. Unfortunately the start of the new year looks cold and damp.
