The deal was finalized Thursday. The school will convert the 14-story building into 150 apartments for students and faculty members. MSOE has said some of the apartments will be ready for occupancy by fall 2014. The building, 1150 N. Water St., has been vacant since 2009. Financial problems stopped the construction of the hotel, which was the start of a legal battle between contractors and lenders as they fought to recover money from the project. The lawsuit ended with the Staybridge selling at a court-approved auction in May 2012. The building was bought by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and New York-based Square Mile Capital Management. Sic-Lazaro is a leading device counterweight manufacturer which sells its products to all continents. Burke said in an email that the violations were of lockout/tag out standards to control hazardous energy, which usually refers to failing to ensure machinery cannot become energized during service and maintenance. The other-than-serious violations were for use of improper wiring. Rexnord Corp. reports 2Q loss MILWAUKEE – Rexnord Corp. last week reported a fiscal second-quarter loss after refinancing debt that resulted in a $129 million loss. The Milwaukee-based maker of process and motion control equipment and water management systems said the debt refinancing will add 30 cents a share to annualized earnings, and raised its earning forecast for the year. Rexnord reported a loss of $52.3 million, or 54 cents a share, compared with net income of $19.2 million, or 19 cents, a year ago. For the three months ended Sept. 28, revenue rose 3 percent to $514.5 million from $499.5 million. Process and motion controls sales rose 1 percent to $312 million, while water management sales increased 7 percent to $203 million. The company increased its full-year adjusted earnings outlook by 20 cents a share, to $1.32 to $1.38 a share, which is a reflection of the partial year benefits of the debt refinancing and its latest outlook. For the fiscal third quarter, Rexnord anticipates sales of $495 million to $505 million and adjusted earnings of 29 to 32 cents a share. DWD enters into agreement with Burning Glass Technologies MADISON – Department of Workforce Development Secretary Reggie Newson announced that the department has entered into an agreement with Burning Glass Technologies to develop a state-ofthe-art labor market information system to connect job seekers with available job openings. "Our state's economic strength will depend greatly on our ability to equip workers with the skills needed to fill positions that employers have available today, and this labor market information system represents an important milestone to achieve this goal," Gov. Scott Walker said.
