Photo by Barb Nark Talking turkey In light of the Thanksgiving holiday, it would be worth not- ing the American heritage of the Horseshoe Lounge Playboy phe- nomenon. American in the sense of its humble Appalachian-bred musical roots. American in that hellion-type sense of headstrong individualism. American in its love of family, friends, dancing and corn liquor. The Horseshoe Lounge Playboys are just finishing production on its second full-length album, and planning the group’s annual Day- After-Thanksgiving show, which will start around 9 p.m. at the Autumn Cafe in Oneonta. Always a good time, the band looks forward to kicking off the holidays, seeing everyone who is home for a visit and not being at the mall. _ Karen Miritello Darin Trass 6. This playboy always surprises his band mates by the number of beers he has downed before playing.
